About Sports Spectacular

The Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular has been heralded by the Los Angeles Times as the premiere sports awards dinner in the nation. This charity event was established in 1986 to raise awareness about the promise of genetic research, and has led to better understanding of the numerous genetic diseases affecting children and adults. The Challenge

We were given the challenge of branding the most heralded sports charity event in the nation, while incorporating some of the most acclaimed sports personalities and celebrities into the event’s online identity.

The X-Factor

• The social media raffle with Troy Polamalu raised over $25,000 in two weeks!
• Social media campaigns with Lindsey Vonn, Landon Donovan, Troy Polamalu, and Blake Griffin, as well as pages for Snoop Dogg, John Salley and other celebrities.
• Our Facebook campaign increased “Likes” from 300-3,700 in under a month.
• The website is fully scalable, allowing for hundreds of additional pages to showcase the great honorees and celebrities from Mohammed Ali, Snoop Dogg, Dwayne Wade and over 100 more.
• Increased website traffic by 400% in first month.
• Added a Meebo bar that integrates all their social media feeds into one simple sharing platform.

How We Did It

We began with diligent research and competitive analysis. After careful review, we realized we had the opportunity to do something extraordinary in the non-profit world. Internally, our research, design and development teams worked seamlessly to drive home the brand identity across all assets and campaigns.
